You needn't walk alone.

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

**I had this post scheduled before all of this happened I think it fits. I will admit I have been more anxious than I want to be. on top of the unknowns and fears we all have other battles in our lives. I have dear friends going through chemo. Marriages are struggling, finances were already tight, moms about to have babies, or with newborns. Lives and struggles don’t really stop And it seems like we just can’t catch a break. But I went ahead with this post because I feel like maybe we all could use a “life doula” right now. And as we gather around each other - perhaps digitally- we can look to The One who has always been faithful and will be faithful Now.

You needn't walk alone.

This is the cry of my heart, or my main message that I want women to know.

In my everyday life, I want my husband and kids to know I will always, always be there for them.

For my friends, I try to be there for them when they're in need.

For my clients I want moms and dads to know they have someone in their corner during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Even beyond that.

For the readers of my book, I wrote it so they can have someone to relate to. To not hide when they're having a hard time or when things just are not what they thought it was going to be.

I firmly believe whether you admit it or believe it - there is a God in Heaven who is walking and wants to walk closely by you in your journey. I know that you are never alone even when you feel like you are.

There are people out there in the world who actually want to walk alongside you and help you. I am just one of them. It is a joy for me to be able to offer any measure of comfort or help to someone in need. If I am able to give you 5 minutes of comfort when you are scared or unsure then I have done my job. I mean ideally, I am there for you the whole time, but you get the idea.

I have had many wonderful women come alongside me in my life and guide me through. My own mom and sisters have been incredible to me my whole life. I have had teachers, friends, small group leaders, midwives, doulas, and just regular people take an interest in my life and help me through very very hard times. They are the reason I am where I am today. They are the reason I want so so very strongly for you to have someone walking by you.

so let’s be that for each other. reach out. Text. Email. Call. FaceTime. let’s chat about life. Kids. God. Any of it. All of it.
